FIM Superstock Cup

FIM Superstock Cup

The FIM Superstock Cup takes place during World Superbike rounds held in Europe, but the races include riders from all over the world. The category was created in 1999 with younger riders in mind, riding high performance bikes on normal road tyres.

This is probably the most hotly contested category of all, as a result of the requirement to keep almost all the factory components on the competition bikes. The competition is done using 1000cc and 600cc engines and is intended to help young competitors to make the transition to being winning riders.

Highly professional aspirants

But do not be deceived by the fact that only riders up to the age of 24 can participate in the STK1000 and up to 20 in the STK600, because the FIM SuperStock Cup is no child's play. This year, 41 riders have signed up for the STK1000, 14 of them from Italy and all wanting to emulate the achievement of Canepa who won the title in 2007.

The rest of Europe is also well represented in this extremely competitive class with riders coming from countries such as Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland, joining three Australians and a South African.
